12 Week Eat Great Lose Weight Challenge

Week 1

What was your starting weight this week? 55.8kg

What is your current weight? 54.8kg

Did you reach your goal this week? Yes

How often did you train this week? 4 times

Did you have any cravings, if yes what were they? No

What were your favorite dishes/foods? Sushi

Why do you think you did or did not reach your goal this week? I was focused on what I want to achieve by the end of the week. I actually ate out 3 times, shared a small dessert, had wine, popcorn at movies and nibbled on my husbands dish for variety. Everything was is in moderation so I didn’t feel deprived or guilty.

What did you find difficult this week? During the day when I wanted to nibble out of tiredness. My mind often fights sleep and rather wants food!

How did you overcome these difficulties? I take A LOT of deep breaths (lol), it helps me quickly understand what it is I am feeling and what I really need instead of just making an impulse decision. I opted for low calorie foods and drinks like salad, tea, cocoa and treated myself to some series and Pinterest :) I love seeing what I am working towards.

What realisation did you have this week? That I can go out 3 times in one weekend, enjoy a bit of everything with friends and still achieve my goal without feeling drained or deprived.

What can you improve on next week? Relax my mind more so that I can get enough sleep. That way I don’t  have to use unnecessary will power to avoid sugary foods and I can rather then use the will power towards things I do want.

Week 2

What was your starting weight this week? 54.8kg

What is your current weight? 54.9kg

Did you reach your goal this week? Yes

How often did you train this week? 4 times

Did you have any cravings, if yes what were they? No

What were your favorite dishes/foods? Breakfast Oat with dates and seeds

Why do you think you did or did not reach your goal this week? My goal is to maintain my current weight but drop body fat and build muscle so I am happy with this weeks progress.

What did you find difficult this week? We had a 60th Birthday Party and avoiding all the unhealthy foods / drinks took quite a bit of willpower because I was hungry!

How did you overcome these difficulties? I spent time engaging with people rather than the food… When I did have something to eat I really savored it reminded myself that I am making the best decisions with what is available. I reminded myself that food was a small aspect of the celebration. I was their to enjoy the good company and make memories :)

What realisation did you have this week? In the past people have often said things that have made me feel obliged to eat or drink unnecessarily so that they feel at ease. Over this passed weekend I realised that their will always be someone that does not agree with my ways. We have different goals and therefore different behaviors and thats totally cool :)

What can you improve on next week? To keep going and embedding the habits and lifestyle I have created.

Week 3

What was your starting weight this week? 54.9kg

What is your current weight? 54.7kg

Did you reach your goal this week? Yes

How often did you train this week? 5 times

Did you have any cravings, if yes what were they? No

What were your favorite dishes/foods? Morning oats with 1/2 banana, 1tsp cocoa powder & 2tsp peanut butter.

Why do you think you did or did not reach your goal this week? My weight seems to be stable which is great. I have lost 2% body fat with the caliper reading but will check when I go for may weigh in how my muscle mass is doing :)

What did you find difficult this week? I go though days where I’m not particularly excited about chopping veg (lol) but preparation is key!

How did you overcome these difficulties? Although I do prefer cutting my own veg, in times like these I opted for woolies plain precut veg. They seem to last the longest in the fridge :)

What realisation did you have this week? I have become aware of a few more food triggers. I tend to eat super fast when I’m excited about something and have had the thought to celebrate the exciting news by going out to eat. I wasn’t too bothered though. It was just good to be able to recognise it, so that I could decide if I really wanted to go out to eat. That way I am in control of my emotions and not the other way around.

What can you improve on next week? Enjoy the process of preparing our food by planing my favourite tunes :)

What was your starting weight this week? 55.5kg

What is your current weight? 54.7kg

Did you reach your goal this week? Yes

How often did you train this week? 3 times

Did you have any cravings, if yes what were they? Ice Coffee

What were your favorite dishes/foods? Homemade Ice Coffee

Why do you think you did or did not reach your goal this week? My weight seems to be 1kg up and down (a result of my behavior) which I’m  happy with. I’ve maintained my sanity and had a few treats here and there. The balance has done me well.

What did you find difficult this week? My mind is quite occupied with my new adventure of moving to the UK in Jan. I’ve experienced so many new emotions which has been great for self awareness and growth. It’s been challenging sticking to my routine as I find this time of year I naturally want to unwind and relax. However, there are still things to be done.

How did you overcome these difficulties? Zooming out to look at the bigger picture, taking note of my emotions and taking one step (in the right direction) at a time.

What realisation did you have this week? Learning = Behavior change. If I have not changed my behavior, I have not learnt. From experience, it’s easy to achieve a goal if you only have that to focus on. Finding a balance is the difficult part but vital for my overall happiness :)

What can you improve on next week? Continue with getting done what I need to get done so that I can reap the rewards later and maintain what I have achieve thus far.
